Sarasota Photographer: Behind the Lens with Ron Klineschmidt

My dear readers, as many of you know, I write about creative people and unique experiences in Sarasota. I aim to reveal the individuals who bring life to this city, inspire with their work, and contribute to the community’s creative energy. These are the stories that matter.

This time, I had the chance to speak with Ron Klineschmidt (kidronproductions.com, studiokrp.com, ronklineschmidt.com),

a Sarasota native whose photography captures the beauty of landscapes, architecture, and nature. Born and raised here, Ron has witnessed the city grow and evolve, though his focus remains on capturing the details and dynamics of the world around him.

Ron’s work includes landscape photography, architectural shots, and intricate nature scenes. He is exceptionally skilled in time-lapse and hyper-lapse techniques, creating dynamic visuals that bring movement to static environments. His 360 photography adds a unique layer to his portfolio, allowing him to make "tiny planets" and showcase Sarasota from perspectives many might overlook. Whether he’s exploring the curves of a building or the textures of natural settings, his photography emphasizes color, detail, and emotion.

During our conversation, I asked Ron about Sarasota’s growth and evolution, and we touched on an important topic: the challenges faced by talented artists who lack the resources or business skills to promote themselves. Sarasota is rich with creativity, yet many local artists struggle to gain the exposure they need to thrive.

There is a growing wish for Sarasota to have a thoughtfully designed “art village”—a creative hub located downtown, beautifully and aesthetically crafted. Such a space could showcase local talent, attract tourists, and bring real value to the city, elevating its artistic community to new heights.

Ron balances his photography with a strong commitment to family. He collaborates with his wife on projects like video content for her Kundalini dance yoga venture and supports his daughters, one studying animation and the other immersed in theater. His ability to integrate personal and professional creativity reflects his grounded approach to life and art.

As Sarasota continues to grow, Ron believes the city has an opportunity to do more for its artistic community. He recalls the impact of initiatives like the Manasota Films group, where local filmmakers could present their work to the public. “It brought people together in a way we need more of,” he said. “We have so much talent here, but it’s not always supported how it should be.”

Sarasota has the potential to embrace its artistic spirit more fully, creating spaces that celebrate creativity while offering practical benefits to both artists and the city. Such an approach could elevate the local arts scene, giving artists the exposure they deserve while enriching Sarasota’s cultural identity.
